It Goes On and On

It goes on ....

Yes , there was a book a few years back called "On A Clear Day You Can See General Motors" . It was written after the government generally bailed out Chrysler Motors . The day has come . I have little sympathy for that industry as I realize the greed of the takers who have raked in incredible amounts of bonuses as CEOs on the back of a public that is determined to buy SUVs . In this area there are a lot of vehicles that are ready for great snowfall when we only get a few days a year of actual big snow problems . Those cars and trucks were sold without the blink of an eye by the manufacturers . Perhaps the owners are incredibly "Macho" or maybe it is that they are just "Pussies" , cowards afraid of weather changes . I don't know anymore . All I know is that nobody is "Bailing me out " but my mother but my mother does have to think of herself and her husband , after all. This comes back to "Nobody is bailing me out!"

I can't be the only one on this very thin ice but I am going to be sixty four this year and I can't imagine a scenario of retiring from a job I don't have . Somehow I have made ends meet yet I continue to go under every month . I refinanced a loan but it is getting harder to move money , if not impossible . The idea of the seven hundred billion dollar bonus to Wall Street seemed to be to open up the banks and their lending to businesses , small businesses like me . That just has not occurred . So where is the money ? I understand that Paulson can't tell congress where the money is and has changed plans but has kept the money . Where exactly is the money ?

There were no regulations put on the money or on Paulson or on our "Lame Duck Administration" . The money should never have been made available to them at all . The banks will continue to screw us if we allow them . It is a "Drug Deal" gone wrong and you don't get your money back from the drug deal . How can this congress continue to lie and cheat it's way to the end of 2008 ? Easy , the same way it lied and cheated it's way to the end of 2007 .

I notice that Obama is already backing away from the sixteen month withdrawal of troupes . The Democrats are the same as we left them in 1968 , or perhaps I should mention 1996 when Clinton lost the congress , not that he ever had the control that George W. Bush was able to exert with his Republican gang . The fact is that the changing guard well might have control of congress but . personally , I don't trust them any more than the Republicans . A perfect example is the current "Bailout" package which continues with no limits or regulation .
I will face some hard decisions in January myself . I am not alone and a lot have fallen already to this insanity . I can only see things from my head and I don't care about General Motors . I would like to have a place to sleep in February . This season is falling further from short than any season in the past that I can remember as an adult . The early months of the year are always bleak for me and I count on December's success to get me through the winter . December is here and there is no light at the end of the tunnel for me this year . Digging a deeper ditch will be an option if I can find a shovel to pile on more money to what I already owe in debt . The Bailout and "Trickle Down" theory hasn't worked for me . Why not try a Trickle Up idea and give me and people like me actual funds like those being given to Wall street in an abstract , unregulated , unanswerable way .
