There Is No Democracy

The last time I had this much trouble voting I coincidentally moved out of that county. This time I am very close to not voting in the general election. I don't think I have ever felt this abandoned by this country ever before . Even when Nixon was President I felt some hope that there might be a better time ahead . Carter came out of the woodwork and I had never heard of him ,Clinton was the same , and now Obama.I have come to a place where it doesn't matter to me anymore .The only thing I am doing is voting against the other party. My party doesn't represent me . I don't know who they represent but it sure doesn't seem to be the constituency.

I have no idea why the medical bill has been more important than the aesthetic value of or at least the illusion of democracy in America. There is no more illusion for me. It is over. All I can do is watch the concept fail as the people are urged to wave their flags and go to war.It is analogous to Communism in Russia. The idea seemed good on paper but the practice came down as a totalitarian regime. Many times it looked like the totalitarians had a leg up on democracies because they didn't have to answer to the people . Now American democracy doesn't answer to the people.

I didn't vote today though I went to two different polling centers. At the first I had a good conversation with an older man working the polls for the Democrats. While we were speaking a woman came up and complained about the new redistricting which she didn't know about, something about Van Holland's district being changed . I went in to vote and found that I couldn't vote at that particular place. I went to the out of the way place designated for my neighborhood and gave my address, full name, repeated my name several times, having to spell my last name again and again , then was asked to reiterate my age to them.At this point I was tired of playing this game . I suppose they might have given me a blood test but it was all a ridiculous charade conducted by petty authoritative little people. Who would impersonate me ? Drive to the out of the way polling place, give my address, spell my name several times .. I mean , to add to the supercilious , there is this bureaucratic nonsense. Intrinsically ,I already was questioning the reasoning of voting in the primary for a candidate who has spent too much money on the expensive paper in my mailbox and the intrusive phone calls to warrant the position they are running to control.I didn't really want to endorse any of the candidates. The only ones I knew anything about I didn't like anyway.I did walk out , to hell with it !

If the charade is exposed to light , the parade is off . Yes, the last time I had so much trouble was in 2002 and I voted for Johnson in Prince Georges County who was indited and sent to jail this year (ten years later),his wife soon following after. His campaign was about cleaning up the PG County Police force. That didn't work but at least I moved to another county but we are all in the same county , the same state , the same country , and the same world . Everybody wants to get in our boat and our boat is taking on water.

There is no more democracy. Somebody should have warned the Egyptians ,the Iraqi, and even the Libyans. I wonder who would warn them ? Could we count on Halliburton or the big oil companies ? Gee, what a great example of a rhetorical question !
